Un Mes Más/One Month Left

LO SIENTO! I am really behind because I haven't blogged about Oaxaca yet, but don't worry it will be worth the wait. My long blogs sometimes take me up to an hour and a half because I just write SO much and edit, and write some more, so please bear with me until later this week to get that post up. Oaxaca was incredible, and I am so excited to share about it with you all.

Now for some late night reflections:

Since it is Sunday, I knew I had to post SOMETHING so here is my quick post just saying I am alive and well, and happy as ever, but at the same time nostalgic in my own way because today marks the 1 month point until I will be coming home.

One Month.

I cannot believe that my semester is 3/4 of the way over.
I cannot believe that I have only been here 3 months, when it feels like a lifetime.
I cannot believe that I will have to say some of the hardest goodbyes of my life.
I cannot believe that soon everything will change, yet again.

But at the same time, I can hope, and I can enjoy the time I have left. I do not want to take anything for granted while I am here in the next remaining four weeks. We already have some crazy weekends planned, and my schedule is filling up with Indy's (one-on-ones) and Laura and I have a Mexico bucket list that we are working on finishing before we leave. I will make the most of my 30 days left, that I can promise.

However, to be completely honest with everyone, I'm scared to go home. I have changed and grown, and I love being so real here, so vulnerable with friends and so plugged in to deep relationships and daily heartfelt conversations with 15 wonderful people and an amazing professor. (Shout out to Mexican Mary, our WIM leader). I am accustomed to living the Mexican way of life, with a very relaxed rhythm which consists of at least 2 hours worth of walking every day. There is a new sense of flexibility, independence, realness, craziness, strangeness (hehe) and musicality that I have been refreshed with this semester. I love who I am here, and I am comfortable with it. What scares me is that I am returning different, (or at least I think so) and I do not know how my different views of life, or how the differences in myself will be implemented back in the States. There are so many unknowns, and that can sometimes be overwhelming. But, I remind myself that Jesus has it all in His hands, He's got my whole world (both MX and US) in his hands, and whatever He has in store for me is part of His plan. Amen to that.

On the Jesus note, tonight, we had our Vespers service, and I got to lead one of my current favorite songs on the Piano. The lyrics resonate deeply with me, and they are my prayers for the next month: that over my remaining time in Mexico, Jesus will continue to pull me closer and deeper to know Him even better. The last 3 months I have gotten to taste how sweet His love is, and I just hope to continue to recognize how great His love is.

        Closer- Bethel Live
"You're Love has ravished my heart, and taken me over, taken me over,
And all I want is to be, with you forever, with you forever.

Pull me a little closer, take me a little deeper,
I want to know your heart,
I want to know your heart
Your love is so much sweeter, than anything I've tasted,
I want to know your heart.

Whoa, whoa, how great your love is for me,
Whoa, whoa how great is your love."

So in the meantime, my life will be hectic and busy here for a bit, but like I stated early, I don't want to miss a thing, and I look forward to seeing what Jesus is going to do with my last month. :)

This all being said, thank you for reading about my time down here, for caring about what I have to say, for emailing me and sending me encouragement, for just being my biggest (and only, haha) fans![oh, and p.s Don't get me wrong! I am so excited to see all you friends and family back at home, and I know you will be supportive and loving of me in every way possible when I return]. I will make sure to get to Oaxaca  on a blog post later this week, so you can see some wonderful pictures and hear about the adventures we all had.

Until then, enjoy some of my favorite pictures of the natural beauty of Oaxaca. Explanations will be given later...(sorry, you're going to have to wait) but many of these pictures only need one caption- God's Greatness.

With love, Emily
